Our World

11/29/2001: While my guitar gently weeps.
Listening to the news, I could hear the rain falling as the Southern California sky wept for George Harrison. For when artists move on, they always tear away a strand of our souls, just as we all absorbed a piece of theirs when their art touched us.

Today the music died and Harrison is no more in a world divided by Hate and Fanaticism. In these times of conflict, let's all remember My Sweet Lord's hypnotic mantra for Peace and Serenity and its cry for Tolerance.

We also need to remember George for his deep humanity and awareness of world events, his willingness to respond to human tragedies through his art. Whatever success 'Bangladesh'  had in helping the starved populations was certainly decupled by the overwhelming response of the entire world as Harrison's music touched their hearts.

Let's all pay tribute to a true visionary and a man who lived a legendary life yet still treaded lightly on mother Earth. His songs will keep flying gently in our memories.

Here comes the Sun...
