Name |
Enter the
promotion name in this field. If you are using the promotion display
script on your web site (DTListPromotion.asp), this will be the name seen by
the users. See the integration manual about using DTListPromotion.asp or
consult your VAR. |
| Apply
to Customer Type |
Platinum
(B2B) version only.
Select the customer type to whom the promotion will apply. Other
customer types will either the retail price or the promotional price
corresponding to their own promotions. |
| Apply
to Product(s) |
Select the
product (or products) the promotion applies to. In order to select
multiple products, hold the 'Ctrl' key and select additional
products with the mouse.
Note that assigning a promotion to a product (or
products) 'de-selects' the category assigned to that promotion since those
two features are mutually exclusive. |
| Apply
to Product Category |
A promotion
may be applied to an entire category of products. If the category contain
sub-categories, the promotion will also apply to the sub-categories. Note
that assigning a promotion to a category 'de-selects' the products assigned
to that promotion since those two features are mutually exclusive. |
|
Discount Amount |
If you wish to
offer a fixed discount amount (example $2.00 off), enter the amount in
this field.
Tip: Exercise caution when defining a 'flat' discount rate. In
particular, make sure that no product included in the promotion has a
price inferior to the discount amount. If this happened, the web site
would display a negative price. The shopping cart does not allow negative
sales to be processed but if the user orders multiple items, the negative
price will be used to compute the order's total amount, resulting in a
potentially disproportionate discount. |
|
Discount Rate |
If your
promotion is a percentage discount, enter the percentage in this field.
Tip: Exercise caution when assigning the discount rate since this
will determine the discount amount. Consult your CPA or CFO to make sure
the discount rate makes good business sense. |
