ezStore123/MerchantComplete features a powerful and flexible marketing tool allowing you to cross-sell various products. When a cross-sell association is defined, the related products are listed below the main product when the customers look at the product details page. Any number of cross-sells can be defined for each product.
Define of cross-sells for products already belonging to a cross-sell is supported but you should be careful using this capability as it may become confusing for your customers if too many levels exist.

The module makes no assumption about the nature of the cross-sell and can be used equally well to 'push' product accessories, related products or even to create product 'kits'. Any number of cross-sells can be defined for each product and will always be listed in the order specified.

Field Name Description
Cross-Sell Name

Enter a name for the cross-sell (ex: 'Accessories for Widget1').

Full Description Enter a detailed description of the cross-sell if applicable. The full description will be displayed only if defined.
Apply to Customer Type Platinum (B2B) version only.
Select the product the customer type this cross-sell applies to from the list.
Product Select the base (master) product for the cross-sell. This product will be associated with the other products defined in the cross-sell.
Cross-Sells Select the product(s) you wish to be part of the cross-sell.

1. Adding products to a cross-sell:
Hold the 'Ctrl' key and click on the the non-highlighted products on the list.

2. Removing products from a cross-sell:
Hold the 'Ctrl' key and click on the highlighted products on the list.
Cross-Sell Type Select the type of cross-sell to apply.
- Standard: The associated products are displayed below the main product and can be added by the customer.
- Pre-Select Items: The associated products are always pre-selected and buying the main product will also add all associated products to the shopping cart as a kit. Individual products can still be removed from the shopping cart if desired.
Pre-Set Quantity Enter the item quantity to be suggested on the cross-sell. For example, if you are cross-selling batteries with an electronic appliance, indicate the quantity required. The default value for this field is 1.
Customers can increase or decrease this number at will, should they already have some of the requested items in the order or in their possession.
All items in the cross-sell will be automatically displayed with the 'pre-set' quantity. If you need different pre-set values, create additional cross-sells for the product.

Example:
You want to cross-sell a digital camera and its accessories.
- 4 lithium batteries.
- 1 flash unit.

1. First create a 'Batteries' cross-sell with all compatible lithium batteries (one or more products/brands). Set the 'pre-set' value to 4.
2. Then create a 'Flash Unit' cross-sell with all compatible Flash Units. Set the 'pre-set' value to 1.

The system will display the digital camera details page with all associated lithium batteries with a quantity pre-set to 4 and all associated flash units with a quantity pre-set to 1.
If the 'Cross-Sell Type' is 'Standard' the customer will be able to select accessories, if the 'Cross-Sell Type' is set to 'Pre-Select', all items will be pre-selected and adding the main product to the shopping cart will also add the accessories. Note that the customer has always the option to remove items offered as cross-sells and/or to adjust quantities ordered.
If you need to sell a non-modifiable kit, you should create a special product to this effect.
You may mix and match the 'Cross-Sell Types' for each cross-sell defined for a given product.

Caveat:
When creating cross-sell types with 'Pre-Select' (see this option above) in conjunction with a pre-set quantity, only one item per cross-sell should be listed, otherwise the system will add all items with their pre-set quantities.
This situation will be encountered when creating kits using the cross-sell feature.

Inventory:
The system will resolve any inventory issues when the items are added to the shopping cart, displaying a message if the items selected exceed availability and could be back-ordered. This situation applies only if inventory tracking is enabled for the selected products.
Display Order Product cross-sells are normally listed alphabetically. You can override the listing order by providing a sequence number.
Apply Date The date the cross-sell becomes applicable. Note: 1/1/2000 means Jan 1st 2000 at 0:00:00. Shipping information can be entered ahead of time and will automatically apply when scheduled.
Expiration Date The date the cross-sell ceases to be applicable. Note: 1/1/2000 means Jan 1st 2000 at 0:00:00.
