ezStore123 Integration Center

The ezStore123 ecommerce framework provides an extensive feature set right "out-of-the-box". Each ecommerce site is fully configured when going live, but we realize that our customers may need from time to time to update their applications to take advantage of new or advanced features. This integration center is meant to provide technical information for advanced features and is intended for technical people.

Searching the Online Help System

ezStore123 Admin Center includes comprehensive, context-sensitive help. To get help about any screen, click the "HELP!" link at the top-left side of the Admin Center pages, right under the ezStore123 logo. But there are times where you might need a global search throughout the entire help content. Not to worry, you can also do this, right from this page. To search the help content, simply enter a keyword or a phrase in the text box below then click the "Search" button.
Note: Do not use the search box at the top of this page, it searches the site content only and will likely not help for purely technical questions.

Configuration File

The configuration file is located in the /ezstore123 sub-folder and named _sysdefs.asp. The file contains various system-wide definitions as well as plug-in definitions. The configuration file can be edited using any text editor or with the Shopping Cart Setup Wizard in version 2.2 and higher. The detailed contents of _sysdefs.asp are discussed in the help section.

Configuration File Structure

The file structure comprises a series of constants and/or variable names and their values in the following formats:

• Const AppDefinition1="value" - Text definition.
• Const AppDefinition2=value - Numeric definition.

Configuration File Sections

The configuration file is divided in 3 sections:

• System section: Data maintained by the configuration wizard.
• Aggregates section: System data depending upon definitions in the system section. These definitions should be modified only by experienced technicians.
• Plug-in & customization section: This section contains additional definitions used by plug-ins, Search Catalog or any custom-implementation. Storing global information in this section is a useful method to make them available througout the application and does not affect performance.

Notes:
The Setup Wizard will not affect Plug-In or custom definitions. Additional definitions are saved and restored "as is" when the configuration file is edited. The various sections are clearly separated by delimiters.

Editing The Configuration

It is always safe to edit the configuration using the wizard, however, caution should be exercised when editing the file using any other method as this could compromise system functionality.

Connecting to the Shopping Cart from any web page

This section addresses the actual connection of the shopping cart to the web site. ezStore123 makes the task easy with a limited amount of entry points activating the shopping cart from a simple text or image hyperlink. In most cases, you need only specify the name of the entry point script in a hyperlink. The shopping cart modules will automatically use the defaults provided in the configuration file. You can also override these defaults as needed (see configuration file for parameter syntax).
